About the event
In honor of AAPI Heritage Month, we're hosting our Introduction to Mahjong - Hong Kong style - the format closest to the game's roots and still the most widely played version across East and South East Asia. If you've only ever seen the American version, this is where it came from.
We'll walk you through the full game: how walls get built, what makes a meld, how chows, pungs, and kongs work, and how to read a hand worth winning. You'll play real rounds. You'll leave knowing how to sit at a table and hold your own.
No experience necessary. Traditional tile sets are provided - no equipment to source, no annual card to buy. The game belongs to anyone who wants to learn it.
