MixMix Mahjong

We Just called it 'mahjong'
Just tiles, noise, and love.
MixMix was founded by two Filipina-American women who learned the game by watching, then playing.
You'd find Mahjong tiles spread out at every family event - holidays, birthdays, random Tuesday night - if there was food and four people, you could almost guarantee our aunties and uncles were playing.
Fast forward to the recent resurgence of modern Mahjong and we didn't see ourselves. The game seemed familiar but it didn't have that same ease we experienced at our family tables.
Enter, MixMix. An opportunity to blend traditional gameplay alongside American Mahjong in expertly curated experiences.

Grace grew up in a household where mahjong was never explained, it was just played. She learned the rhythms long before she learned the rules.

Marianne Rivera
Growing up, Marianne's family played mahjong loud and fast, and she had to keep up. The game was constantly moving between languages, generations, and styles depending on who was at the table.
Marianne designs the lesson experiences and private events that make MixMix more than a class.
